This sirloin flap steak stir-fry is packed with tender beef strips, colorful peppers and onions, and a savory sauce. Perfect for a fast Super Bowl meal, weeknight dinner, or casual crowd-pleasing dish.
Ingredients
-
1½ lbs sirloin flap steak, thinly sliced against the grain
-
2 bell peppers, thinly sliced
-
1 large onion, thinly sliced
-
2 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
2 tbsp lime juice
-
1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
-
Sliced Peppers
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
-
Warm tortillas, rice, or quinoa
-
Chopped cilantro or green onions
-
Optional: avocado or sour cream
Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, honey, garlic, and chili flakes. Set aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Add steak in a single layer (cook in batches if needed) and sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still juicy. Remove steak and set aside.
Add remaining oil to the skillet. Toss in peppers and onions and sauté 3–4 minutes until just tender.
Return steak to the pan, pour sauce over, and toss to coat. Cook 1–2 minutes until everything is heated and the sauce thickens slightly.
Serve stir-fry hot over rice, in tortillas, or on its own. Garnish with cilantro, green onions, or avocado.
